FUTURO

FUTURO is the largest independent contemporary art gallery in Nizhny Novgorod. It was founded in 2016. Now the gallery is a cultural center that combines exhibitional activities with enlightenment in the scope of contemporary art. FUTURO gallery represents both mature artists and emerging young ones, and supports local creative initiatives. It participated in the contemporary art fairs: Cosmoscow and SAM Fair.

The gallery is located on the second floor of the building of the former apartment building of the municipal society. This is a monument of architecture and urban planning of the 19th century. The main hall of the gallery has a unique ruined modern interior.

The concept of the gallery's booth is an alchemy cabinet, in which artists appear as scientists and mystics. On the one hand, they engage in experiments, researching the properties of materials, their combination. So their new imagery is formed in the process. Often for them, this is a way to go beyond not only language, but also reality. On the other hand, the authors, representing nature and the world order symbolically, turn to archetypal signs and forms. At the «1703» fair, the gallery will present works by Vladimir Chernyshev, Sergey Karev, Daniil Antropov and Alexandra Pavlovskaya.
