All participants
The Art & Science Center is a platform for the development of a transdisciplinary dialogue between the artistic and scientific communities.
The Art & Science Center at ITMO University is one of the first institutions that turned to the study and development of scientific and technological art in Russia. In 2018, the Center opened the country's first international Master's program in Arts & Science, led by Dimitri Ozerkov, curator and art historian, head of the Contemporary art department of the State Hermitage Museum. In 2020 the Center launched an art residency program for interdisciplinary artists and opened a hybrid art space AIR (Art.ITMO.Residency), the first gallery of scientific and technological art in St. Petersburg.
At the St. Petersburg Art Fair "1703" the Art & Science Center will present the artworks made by students and graduates of the master's program. Projects at the intersection of art, science and technology explore the boundaries of virtual domain; experiment with traditional materials, reframing them through the use of scientific methods; transfer laboratory aesthetics to the exhibition space and much more.
All presented projects were specially adapted for the fair format.
