Syntax Gallery was founded by the art dealer, curator and founder of Artika Project Elvira Tarnogradskaya in 2019.

Syntax Gallery provides a platform to facilitate the interaction between different generations of artists and creative strategies and supports Russian contemporary art on the global market.

One of the principal domains of the gallery's curatorial research is the study of text in visual culture as an integral element of artistic mediums that manifests itself in the works of artists from different generations represented by the gallery.

The introduction of text into visual culture started at the beginning of the 20th century and is still pertinent today. Artists are constantly on the lookout for new mediums that can help them to convey their ideas and interpret all the processes taking place in the world, where text has long been a part of the culture code.

Syntax Gallery fosters interaction between artists and their creative strategies. The artists represented by Syntax are transforming the visual narrative with the help of sign systems and new media. The gallery explores the interaction between opposing artistic practices and the clash between traditional media and digital technologies.

Syntax Gallery booth will feature works by the gallery's artists — Andrey Anro, Dmitry Bulnygin, Petr Bystrov and a guest artist, Yuri Shabelnikov, a representative of the «South Russian Wave» and a member of the «Art or Death» Society. Gallery will show how artists, representatives of different generations, talk about material and spiritual values, explore utopia and nostalgia for it, and speak metaphorically about the variability of human nature in connection with the change of era.
