Habitat
Selected works from the gazprombank collection
JUNE 26TH — SEPTEMBER 7TH, 2025
About the Exhibition
New exhibition space at the Multifunctional Complex Lakhta Center, opened by PJSC Gazprom, becomes a place for contemporary art immersion — a habitat for unique artworks from one of the most important corporate collections. Today, Gazprombank’s corporate art collection serves as a kind of a repository for Russian contemporary art, filling some of the gaps in museum collections. This selection represents a comprehensive artistic reflection on the perception of our contemporary era through the eyes of artists and clearly indicates the nature of the collection itself.
The city, a space we inhabit and work in, historical memory, life events, everyday trifles, the surrounding landscape — these fragments make up our everyday life. The project attempts to explore the things, objects and ideas that surround us and shape our reality through the prism of art.
As a part of this artistic experiment, the artists turn to a number of mediums: painting, graphics, photography and installation. The artists use different methods of artistic interpretation and analyze fragments of reality in different ways.
